Hotel Alpenhof Kristall

The ski room is great, and the place is clean and well organized. But all four rooms we had shared the same shower problem: every couple of minutes, scalding water would splash you. Maybe they do it to speed up showers, and it works. Kitchen service wasn’t the best either. The main waitress was a little slow and forgetful.

The staff were the best part of our two weeks here. They were so warm and helpful, and made the stay memorable. We had a clean, comfortable room and a really comfy bed. The hotel is at the edge of town, so it’s quiet but still an easy walk to the centre or train station. Breakfast had a very good buffet and freshly scrambled eggs if you wanted them. We ate dinner here a few times and enjoyed the home-cooked daily specials. There’s a lovely garden to sit in, and although we skipped the spa because it was so hot, I’d definitely recommend Kristall. Breakfast was the worst part of our stay. Staff insisted we finish every bit of food on our plates and even said we wouldn’t be allowed to order more unless we did. It left us feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome. The service was disrespectful, and the living conditions fell well below what we consider acceptable. The hotel had an unpleasant atmosphere overall, and guest satisfaction didn’t seem to matter. I’d advise people to stay somewhere else that treats guests with basic hospitality.

We were even denied breakfast on our last day, which felt shocking and unprofessional. During the stay, the room wasn’t cleaned properly, and reception staff were rude and unhelpful. Staff were unfriendly from the outset, and one morning we were yelled at for not finishing our food. That was completely unacceptable. Alpenhof Kristall was an extremely disappointing place to stay, among the worst hotel experiences we’ve had. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a welcoming, comfortable visit.
