The room was tiny, the mattress was uncomfortable, and I slept badly. There was no soap in the bathrooms either. At the restaurant, the owner's wife was serving us on the terrace. When I tried to open the marquee, she said she'd do it, but the open terrace door was getting in its way. A family member tried to slide the door shut and couldn't, so I closed it to help. The waitress snapped that it was “stupid to have done” that, in German, because the door apparently only opens from inside. It seems poorly designed if an open terrace door stops the marquee from working, and a sign or an outside mechanism would have helped. More than that, speaking to a guest that way was impolite. Maybe she was tired, but that doesn't excuse it. I also wondered if she felt it was acceptable because I'm a foreigner. In an educated world, that would be seen as both impolite and discriminatory.

The house is very close to the ski lift, and there’s a shared lounge and sauna guests can use. Our room was pretty small and had no table or chairs, but it worked well enough for sleeping. The staff were friendly and the meals were delicious.

The wine was good, and in my opinion better than the beer. The tortellini tasted nice, but the Variation von Blattsalaten mit Putenmedaillons was delicious. Really friendly staff and a perfect meal. I'd recommend it completely, it's the best food in town!

Super place! Brand new, nicely equipped, cool rooms, and the prices are really low. I love DAV@obertauern. This is the place to be.
