St. Oswalderhof

We had a very comfortable, enjoyable holiday, and the hosts were always smiling and really nice. We were taking part in an ironman competition, so they prepared breakfast early for us. On race morning, they also left a cute message on every table. We'll definitely come back.

The hostess was friendly, courteous, and helpful, and the terrace has a direct view of picturesque Lake Wörthersee. We enjoyed the stay so much that we extended it. The hotel is surrounded by lovely scenery, and you can have a good, generous breakfast on the terrace. There's private lake access about a five-minute walk away, with a jetty and changing room. The rooms look out over the lake and are simply but practically furnished. The bathroom is a little dated, though very clean. And despite what other reviews say, the balconies are private.

The family were welcoming and friendly with our dog, and the place has a lovely Carinthian feel. Our dog could come into the beer garden and onto the jetty, though not to breakfast. The room was clean and bright, with a lake view from the first floor. It was simply furnished but perfectly adequate. There's no elevator. Opening the French doors onto the balcony gave us a lovely view of Lake Wörthersee and the observation tower on the Pyramidenkogel, a great place to visit. We personally liked the retro pink-tiled bathroom and sitz bath. Breakfast was a classic buffet and more than enough for us. They made egg dishes fresh to order, and I recommend the homemade jams from fruit grown in their garden. There was a good range of cheese, fruit, and vegetables for vegetarians. Some vegan choices would be a welcome addition. From the breakfast room or terrace, the view of Maria Wörth is magnificent. The well-kept beer garden has different places to sit, plus a thoughtfully designed biotope with a little waterfall, a nice spot to linger. The lake access is a bathing jetty with loungers, parasols, and a changing room, but there's no grassy area for sunbathing. A public restroom is right across from the entrance. The walk from the hotel takes about five minutes, but you have to go along the road with no sidewalk or footpath. We suggest driving, though parking at the lido costs extra. The price felt acceptable for what you get.

We received a warm welcome and were shown to our room at this lovely, cozy family hotel. The view of Lake Wörthersee near Klagenfurt from the rooms is fantastic. The hotel, St. Oswalderhof, also has its own lake access and private jetty for guests. With only a few rooms, it feels very family-friendly. Breakfast had something for everyone, including local cheeses, cold cuts, fresh fruit and vegetables, and homemade apple juice. The rooms were clean with a stunning view. The bathrooms are a little dated, but that didn't bother us. There's parking right outside, and all guests can use the garden. We had a wonderful vacation and highly recommend it!
