I wouldn’t recommend Easy Appartments Central. The positives didn’t make up for how hard it was to get a decent night’s sleep. The bedding was the cheapest and least comfortable I’ve ever slept on. The fitted sheet felt like sandpaper, and the shapeless pillow left me sure I’d wake up with a bad crick in my neck. In summer the big apartment got extremely hot, and only one fan worked. I’d told the hosts when I’d arrive, but still waited over half an hour in a smelly stairwell for someone to let me in or take my bags so I could start exploring Salzburg. There were some good points. The coffee machine ground fresh coffee and made as many tasty cups as I wanted, and there was a washing machine with a way to hang things to dry. The host also tried to meet my needs despite the language barrier, and the location was pretty good.

The kitchen and bathroom were well equipped, and they provided a fan when I asked. Still, the apartment wasn’t as big as the photos made it seem, and with no AC, summer was uncomfortable. The bathroom exhaust wasn’t working during my stay and wasn’t fixed over the three days I was there. Daily housekeeping is up to the occupant.

It’s a two-minute walk to the riverside, and there are some good fast food places and pubs nearby for a quick bite. The spot is great, but parking on the property is extremely tight, so getting in and out could be a struggle with a wide or long car. There’s one washing machine for the whole complex, and it’s usually in use, with no soap supplied. Better to use the laundromat not far away; the rates are reasonable.

The apartment itself was okay, but the neighbours made it very noisy. After I booked, the owner said it wasn’t for tourist rentals, but that it would be fine if I emailed to say I was there for work, even though I’d said I was a tourist. At check-in we agreed I could shorten the booking by a few days, and the owner said that was okay. In the end, I didn’t get any of the money back as promised.
