The restaurant had lovely wood beams and simple decor, and served great food with excellent service at breakfast and dinner. Its location was ideal for the Christmas markets, just a 2-3 minute walk away. We got a friendly welcome, including a glass of sparkling wine. The first-floor rooms were charming and comfortable, with pod espresso machines, nice linens and a well-lit bathroom. The shower was a little small, but that's understandable in an old building.

The service was warm and very kind, and we had a fantastic stay. I'm not sure I'd call it a luxury hotel, though it deserves five stars in all three categories. The furnishings and bathroom are high quality, and cleanliness is maintained to the highest standards. The equipment is complete, with coffee and tea facilities, a hairdryer, lotion, soap, shampoo, shower gel, conditioner and body oil.

This is a real gem in the old town, with everything within walking distance. The rooms are lovely and very comfortable, and breakfast is delicious. We also had a wonderful dinner there one evening. The lady running the place was charming and incredibly helpful. Highly recommend.

Hotel Goldgasse is in the heart of Salzburg’s Old Town, steps from the cathedral, Mozart’s birthplace and those charming cobblestone streets. We found the restaurant downstairs a hidden gem, warm and cozy, with some of the best local dishes we ate on our trip. Ulrike, the hotel manager, deserves special mention. Her warmth, hospitality and attention to detail gave our stay an extra charm, and she truly reflects Salzburg’s gracious, elegant and welcoming spirit. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional, with every detail handled with genuine care and professionalism. We highly recommend Hotel Goldgasse for an intimate, authentic, five-star Salzburg experience.

The setting was lovely, with the Aldstadt close by and easy to reach. We spent three nights here, and the spacious, comfortable room made it easy to settle in. Breakfast was excellent, with attentive service, and we were welcomed with sparkling wine while someone showed us the hotel amenities.
