The place has a lovely rustic feel, and the service was caring and helpful about lactose intolerance, meat-free meals, and other food choices. They even arranged breakfast and dinner to suit everyone. Dinner was extraordinary, a four-course menu cooked by a very good kitchen, which you don’t come across every day. The rooms were okay, though ours had been a smoker room. All in all, it’s worth recommending, and we’ll come back.

We felt very well looked after here, and the food was amazing. The one thing to know is that the toilet is shared in the hallway, although there’s a shower and sink in each room. That was clearly mentioned in the description. A fantastic place to stay, with wonderful service.

Breakfast was very good, and the three-course dinner was one of the tastiest meals I can remember. The homemade pine schnapps was lovely too. We only stayed one night while walking the E5 trail, but we’d happily return. The room had a freestanding shower, with the toilet out in the hallway. That unusual arrangement didn’t bother us. The box spring beds were incredibly comfortable, and everything looked new and well furnished, so I think the guesthouse may have been renovated recently. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend it.
