Hotel Alpenaussicht

The room was clean and very spacious, the WLAN worked well, beds were made daily, and towels were changed when requested. The sauna area was clean and nicely furnished. Still, we left disappointed and felt the price of €176 per person per night was unreasonable for the quality, service and lack of hospitality. We wouldn’t recommend Hotel Alpenaussicht. We spent a week there as a family, booked a type E room with half board. From arrival, we didn’t feel welcome at this four-star hotel. We had ordered dinner in advance because our arrival time was uncertain, but when we got there at 6:45 pm, we were told our arrival hadn’t been accounted for and cold dishes had been planned. We did get dinner, but that wasn’t a warm greeting. The food was the biggest letdown. Another review compared it to a mid-range canteen, and I agree. The four buffet courses were self-service, though I almost felt I had to beg for the main course. Requests, such as for vegetables with a dish, were met reluctantly or sometimes refused. Some starters weren’t replenished when they ran out, or took a very long time to appear again. I appreciated that a lot of food was reused in the interest of sustainability, but the guests shouldn’t have to sacrifice quality for it. Dry bread from breakfast or the day before, yellowed cheese and dry scrambled eggs aren’t what I’d expect at a four-star hotel. Sauna bathrobes also cost extra to rent, and there was no drinking water in the room.

The staff were warm, pleasant and great at their jobs. This is a lovely family hotel with a good choice of food each day, a relaxed bar and lovely views. I’d highly recommend it for its location in the area and the price.

We went the week before Christmas with my two teenage daughters and another family. The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms clean and comfortable, and the food very good, with plenty of variety for this kind of hotel. Its location worked well for the ski lifts, and they kindly upgraded us to a much bigger room than we had booked. I’d happily come back. The only small disappointment was the bar area. It could use more atmosphere and look more inviting. If it were mine, I’d put out a range of fancy bottles and glasses to tempt people in.

We stayed for Christmas 2019 and had a great time. The staff were very friendly, the food was amazing, and there was loads of choice at breakfast and dinner. The bus stop for getting to the slopes is very close, and the dining room windows look out on nice views. Christmas Eve’s seven-course banquet was incredible.
