Hotel Admiral

We booked three nights but left after the second because the room and service didn’t feel up to standard. The location is good, though it couldn’t make up for the rest. Our late-night check-in was met by a very unfriendly man at reception. The room was badly dated, the bed was extremely uncomfortable, and the old, dirty carpet turned the soles of my white socks a different color after about five minutes. There was a TV, but it was tiny. No AC either, just a small fan that was enough to get by.

Good value for the money. The hotel is close to the museums, with a metro stop just a few minutes away and restaurants and bars nearby.

The noise at all hours made it hard to stay, and I wish I’d chosen somewhere else. The rooms are very basic, and the service wasn’t good. The location is nice, but despite the three-star rating, this felt much more like a motel or hostel than a hotel.

It’s hard to rest after a hot day when the room feels even hotter than the street. There’s no A/C in the middle of summer, and even with two fans it was like an oven, so sleeping wasn’t comfortable. The location is great, close to lots of landmarks, public transport, and places to eat or have a beer.
