Pension Beate

We stayed four nights and will definitely ask about coming back. The landlady was lovely, friendly, and accommodating, and the house is in a peaceful spot. Breakfast was good and the rooms nicely furnished. I've never seen a hotel or guesthouse this spotless, not a speck of dust or a water mark anywhere.

It's a lovely place, with clean, cosy, modern rooms and a very kind hostess. The location is quiet but just five minutes from everything, and breakfast was excellent with lots of variety. It only misses a five-star rating for me because the TV has German channels only and there's no Wi-Fi.

It's about 400 m from the ATRIO shopping center, though the center of Villach is a little farther away, around 1 km. For the low price, I was impressed by the care and cleanliness of the rooms. They're new, beautifully furnished, and each has a private terrace. The owner was courteous, kind, and always available with information or suggestions about what to see. Breakfast comes as an American or Italian buffet. Easily the best B&B I've stayed in.

Mittagskogel nearby (see picture) is a fantastic area for hiking. Pension Beate is in Villach Warmbad, and trail starting points, including those via the Baumgartnerhof or the Martinihof, are easy to reach by car. I booked a single room at short notice for two nights on a hiking trip. It was modern and very clean, with everything I wanted before and after a strenuous hike: German TV, Wi-Fi, electric shutters, and an excellent shower. Breakfast deserves a mention too. Because of the pandemic it wasn't a buffet, but they still took requests. Communication with the owner and guesthouse staff was very pleasant. I can wholeheartedly recommend the place.
