The owner is such a warm-hearted, amazing person. The hotel is literally across the road from the ski lift, with access to a local ski area that’s not huge but really good. It’s mostly good local skiers, without the beginners.

A little dated, but the rooms are spacious and very clean, and some have balconies. Breakfast was perfectly adequate, and the hosts were friendly and helpful. We’ll definitely book the Schattwalderhof again, especially for the excellent value.

Great spot for winter sports, with a fair price and a really lovely hostess.

It’s lovely to hear the landlady is still there. She was always so kind, attentive, and helpful, and her husband and children were lovely too. My grandparents, my brother, and I used to ski there every year after Christmas for about ten years. Wishing the family all the best, and sending warm regards.

Really friendly, caring hosts, a great place to stay, and a decent breakfast. Booking here is a safe bet.
