Jasper Motor Inn

I’m here for five nights, and the room and bathroom have been clean and practical for what I need. The bed and pillows are comfortable, and the TV is better than the one in the last four-star hotel I stayed at in Adelaide city. Free snacks and refreshments each day are a nice welcome. The room feels secure and private, and the old-fashioned air con and heater work fine once adjusted, even though they’re dated. I’ve travelled around the world and stayed in everything from one- to five-star hotels, so I can say the rooms here in late December 2025 are decent, if dated. I’d stay again. I’d disregard the older awful remarks.

The suburb is in a great spot, and the low-rise setup feels safe and secure. The room has been modernised, with easy free parking right outside each room. There’s a fridge, jug, toaster, microwave and TV, plus a comfortable mattress. The shower is accessible for bigger people.

I couldn’t use the shower, sink or toilet the morning after my one-night stay at Jasper Motor Inn because of a plumbing problem in my room. I had to check out without showering or even washing my face, which meant the basic facilities guests need weren’t available. At checkout, the woman working reception told me I’d get AUD 70 compensation through Agoda. I asked for a receipt, but she said she didn’t know how to provide one and asked me to trust her. When Agoda followed up with the property later, they said the hotel would pay only AUD 30. They also asked whether I knew the receptionist’s name, but I didn’t. She was the woman at the front desk that morning. I accepted the smaller refund to avoid more frustration, but I was very disappointed with how this was handled. I don’t feel the property was honest about the agreed amount, and I hope management improves its communication, honesty and care for guests so this doesn’t happen to someone else.

The woman at reception was friendly, which was a nice bonus. The place was clean and tidy, and the bed was comfortable. What more do you need?
