The shared bathrooms were a problem. They didn’t seem to be cleaned on weekends, and with only two sinks, there could be a wait. The main door also didn’t latch properly unless pushed firmly, which made seeing sleazy people hanging around the floor unsettling, especially when I had to cross it to use the shared bathroom. I stayed nine nights. The standard studio was nowhere near the advertised 25m² and felt tiny, though I was moved to a bigger room the next day. A few days later its air conditioning broke, and I had to return to the small room because no larger one was available. They offered no compensation, saying the few nights in the larger room were compensation enough. That felt like a scam when the rooms are much smaller than advertised. Staff weren’t always helpful. The eye-rolling employee on Sunday was especially poor customer service. I can’t recommend staying here.

Oscar gave amazing service today, and the $2 oysters were great too. What a handsome young man. I’ll definitely be back.

The staff were easy to approach and helped carry my suitcase up the stairs. They also supported my medical needs, including refrigeration and freezing. Bedsheets and towels were clean, corridors well vacuumed, and complimentary drinks and water were offered on arrival. I was very happy with the stay. The Ramsgate Hotel is handy for Henley Beach, Henley Square and nearby places to eat. Just be aware that DJs play on Friday and Saturday nights, and it gets very, very loud. I only wish the shelf in the girls bathroom hadn’t accidentally dropped my glass facial wash bottle, and that the light in the unisex toilet had been replaced. Keep that positive staff energy going.

The staff at Ramsgate were amazing, especially Chayton and Drew. The hotel faces Henley’s beach, and it’s a great base for restaurants or a night out at Ramsgate itself. Rooms are modern, though make sure to book one with an ensuite. Weekends can be a bit noisy for families with kids, but the hotel let us know before we arrived, so that was alright. Cheers, guys!
