When we got there at 5pm, nobody was around and we had to call several times. The room still needed cleaning. Even after it had been cleaned, the floor had a stain with a lighter on it. There was mold in the fridge and bathroom, the fridge was loud, the vent was filthy, and there was a hole in the wall. The person who came said they were just the cleaner, but wouldn't give us the manager's name or contact details. Do not stay here.

This New Year's Eve stay had a bit of old-world charm, and the heated bed was cozy. But noise from downstairs kept us awake late into the night. We contacted the manager and didn't get a reply. Thankfully, those guests had left by the next morning, so we finally got a good night's rest. The service was unremarkable.

The room setup made the house feel close quarters, and noise could carry depending on who else was staying. Our family of four had the master bedroom and its own bathroom; from what I gathered, the other rooms used the original shared bathroom. There was also just one air-conditioning control for the whole house, so guests could end up switching it on and off for each other. Luckily, that didn't become an issue for us. The curtains left parts of the windows uncovered, which let light in and made privacy from the street and the house opposite a concern. Some flyscreens had holes too. Josh, the manager, was quick to help, including replacing our leaky kettle promptly. The house is a converted home split into rental rooms. It was quite expensive, perhaps because it was peak season and there weren't many options, and I don't think the four-star self-rating fits.

We paid for the room but couldn't bring ourselves to stay. It wasn't ready by 3pm, and we were told it was too hard to find staff. The sheets had only been pulled up, not changed, and the room smelled awful. There was no bathroom door, holes in the gutter, and the furnishings looked like they'd come from a tip shop. It was like finding Friday night's mess on Monday morning.
