Avondel Caravan Park

For $33 a night for two people, we had a grassed powered site under a big tree. The amenities were good and very clean, and there's a kitchen, swimming pool and even a giant chess set. It's pet friendly, a two-minute walk from the IGA and other shops, and about a ten-minute drive to the CBD.

A small but comfortable caravan park, and a great stay. The bathrooms were decent, and our interactions with the staff were good.

What a nice little caravan park. Kelly greeted me at reception with a smile, and it's dog friendly. The pool is good, though the furniture needs replacing. It was good to see plenty of COVID cleaning fluids around the park. I had a lovely couple of days.

The cabin was in such poor shape that getting inside was difficult for me, since I have major mobility issues. Its handrail felt so loose I thought it would come off if I relied on it. Inside, the old, clunky facilities didn't help. The floor was dirty, the sheets hadn't been changed, and there were practically no pillows. The air-conditioner sat right over the bed and was so loud that sleep, or even hearing anything, was out of the question. The bed itself was so bad I might as well have slept in my car. That was $250 a night, and it took me three days to recover. The reviews make this sound like a great place, but don't be fooled. Save your money and try a truck parking area, where you might be more comfortable.
