Parkview Apartments

The room was a little dated, but fine for the price we paid. Parking was free and secure, and it was easy to get to the best parts of Brisbane city. We stayed three nights and would come back.

Our rooms were cancelled just 48 hours before check-in, even though we had booked and paid at the property eight months earlier. They were cheap because we booked so far in advance, and there was an event on. After cancelling, the motel advertised the rooms for three times the price. They said they had called, but there were no missed calls.

The condition of the apartment was awful. It was extremely dusty and had a strong cockroach smell. I'm asthmatic, and my wife has ankle problems, so that was especially hard on us. The blankets had visible blood stains, and the inside of the electric kettle was stained too. Completely unhygienic. If I could, I'd give this zero stars. There was no lift, which the listing didn't mention, and hauling luggage up to level 2 was exhausting. Once we got inside, the smell made the place unbearable. I asked for a ground-floor room without the smell, but they said there wasn't one available, even though I was told rooms were still available. The staff weren't helpful. I tried to cancel as soon as I arrived, but was told I couldn't because I'd already “checked in,” and I wasn't offered a refund. How could I know what the apartment was like without going inside first? I wouldn't recommend Parkview Apartments to anyone.

Eric, the site manager, was professional, pleasant, and quick to respond. The one-bedroom apartment was clean, fully equipped, and in a secure building.
