The history of this place is interesting, and the owners are friendly and helpful. It was a pleasant stay in a spacious, comfortable room, nicely appointed and styled to suit the old building. The renovation of this early 1900's pub, now a hotel, has been done really well and it presents nicely. It’s conveniently close to the centre of town. There are some quirks that come with a historic building. You have to use the stairs to get to the rooms, though I’m not sure whether there are any on the GF. The wooden floorboards creak, and hauling everything to and from my room felt like a bit of a mission. The bed was a little soft for me, though it might suit others. Personally, I prefer a more modern setting with more direct motel-room access.

The Imperial Hotel made a lovely base for exploring Broken Hill, and we’d happily come back because there’s still so much to see. Silverton is only about 20 minutes away and well worth the drive. In town, we loved the moving, informative Memorial @ Line of Lode and the Living Sculptures. The walk takes about 20 minutes each way, but there’s also the option to drive up and park, which could help in the heat or with mobility issues. We also had delicious dinners at The Broken Hill Pub and The Astra, and enjoyed Thursday trivia at The Broken Hill Pub. Karaoke on Wednesday night at The Palace Hotel was fun too. The Line of Lode Cafe was a great breakfast stop: delicious food, good value, and stunning views. Imogen knew the city well and gave us helpful tips on what to see. The RFDS Experience was excellent, with a great presentation and friendly, informative staff, Russel and Kay. Back at the accommodation, the heritage building was beautifully decorated and furnished. Our room was spotless, thoughtfully equipped, and had an incredibly comfortable bed. It was quiet and restful, with secure, convenient onsite parking. The shared sitting room and kitchen were lovely extras, and the pool looked very inviting, though we were too busy to use it. Thanks, Cath, for such a beautiful stay. We’ll recommend it to friends and family and would love to return.

The historic details give this old building a real step-back-in-time feel, and it’s a treat to stay in. The place was clean and comfortable, and the owners went out of their way to help with what we needed. Definitely worth a visit.

The common areas and rooms feel comfortable and homely, and the service was so warm and friendly. I’d say it’s a must-stay.

Cath was a wonderful host. I enjoyed chatting with her and hearing about Broken Hill and the building’s history. The huge veranda was a great place to sit with a cold beer and watch the sunset. My room was spacious and really comfortable, and guests can also use a separate kitchen and dining area. I had a great two-night stay at The Imperial Fine Accommodation, and would love to come back if I’m in town again.
