The Parade Hotel

After trying a few dinner spots since moving to the area and being disappointed, I'm glad we gave the parade hotel a go. The servings were really generous, and everything was fresh and cooked just right. Well done, team.

The squid today was tender, soft and tasty, nothing like the chewy stuff you get elsewhere. Everything I've tried here so far has been yummy and good quality. I'll be back for another treat.

Lunch was busy, as you'd expect, but our food still came out in good time. The pasta, pizza and steak were all delicious. Luca looked after us so well, staying on top of what we needed and being polite and respectful. He deserves a Christmas bonus. Hats off to the chef too.

We spent five days here and really enjoyed it. The rooms were neat, clean and tidy, with plenty of space for two adults. The water pressure was great, and the morning showers were lovely and hot. Staying guests get 10% off meals and drinks, and having all five dinners here saved us driving or walking into town and back. We could watch lovely sunsets and see the full moon from the outdoor decks. The views from the deck and seating areas take in the river and Bunbury main centre, which is an easy, leisurely 20-minute walk along the riverfront and through the parklands. Staff were happy and chatty, there's a large choice of beers on tap and plenty of meal options. The Happy wife cafe next door does hot and cold breakfasts and morning coffee at reasonable prices, and the ladies there were very friendly to chat with. It's a quiet area with hardly any noise apart from the local wildlife. It's an easy 45-minute drive from Busselton airport. Bunbury is a lovely town for an extra-long weekend, and we'd definitely stay here again if we're in the area.
