The cabins are modern corrugated iron buildings with air conditioning and separate bedrooms. Mine had two bedrooms, and there are smaller motel-style rooms too. I was surprised by how good the stay turned out after thinking it might be a bit of a lucky dip. The cabins have a walk-through gate to the pub’s huge, partly covered beer garden, where plenty of local families were enjoying their hidden spot. Locals were also having a few cold beers at the busy bar. Meals are a limited menu on Mondays and Tuesdays, but there’s still something to suit most tastes. The beer was nice and cold on a 35-degree day. There’s good off-road parking, it was quiet overnight, and the rates are very competitive for town.

The food was delicious, and this seems like a lovely weekly gathering spot for friends and family. But some staff aren’t child-friendly and don’t seem to know how to handle issues with kids. One staff member was rude and inappropriate, glaring at and scolding children who were misbehaving instead of speaking directly to the adults. I hope management takes this complaint seriously. Apart from that, everything at termo was great.

We were looking forward to drinks and dinner at the Terminus hotel while visiting Coonamble with friends and our two dogs, but dogs aren’t allowed, even in the beer garden. We travel around the country and like to spend money in the towns we stay in, so we tried. I understand the hotel’s rules, but lots of people travel with dogs and the hotel is missing out on good business.

The deluxe cabin was clean and comfortable, had everything I needed, and came with its own private parking. Service was friendly and good. We had quick, tasty, reasonably priced meals in the bistro. This is a hidden gem for a place to stay and eat. The only downside was the old, grubby bar area and its slightly musty smell. Definitely recommend.

The food and staff were nice, but one staff member’s conduct made the restaurant visit uncomfortable. She was unfriendly and unprofessional, and seemed to show discrimination. She also wasn’t accommodating toward children. Management like this shouldn’t represent the restaurant.
