The hot springs setup beside the Warrigo River is beautiful and well worth a visit, but the pools were a huge disappointment. We had booked 9:00 AM, and the woman at the desk said she hadn't turned up the temperature yet. There were six pools, but only one was hot. All the others were very cold, not even lukewarm, including the indoor pool. We paid $35 each as two pensioners and were extremely disappointed. Since you have to book one of the set times, I'd suggest checking that the pools are heated as the signs say. Maybe book for 11:00 AM or later. Visits are limited to two hours. Adults pay $45 each. The heritage-style accommodation is great, just a two-minute walk across from the HOT Springs on the Warrigo River. The owners went above and beyond for my elderly friend and me, offering to collect us from the nearby bus stop when we arrived and take us back on our last day. The dining room meals were excellent, and my steak was the most tender I've ever had. Hotel Cunnamulla is a must. The owners and staff were lovely and friendly.

We met some lovely locals and other travellers over drinks and had some great conversations. The food was fantastic, making it a wonderful place to spend Christmas Day. Road-trip Christmas lunch can be tricky, but we called ahead just before the break and Fiona confirmed a table. Doug and Fiona gave great service, and Paul served drinks at the bar.

The staff are friendly and helpful, and the owners are gradually refurbishing the hotel. Rooms are decent, with good showers and comfortable beds, though the place feels a little eclectic at the moment. The hotel only opens at 4:30 PM, so check in is after that.

We stopped for a quick lunch and really enjoyed what they had on offer. My husband had a great hamburger, and I had the best steak sanga I've tasted in years. Our eight-year-old granddaughter had the garlic bread and couldn't stop saying how good it was. Two thumbs up.

Doug and Fiona are fantastic people, and the meals were excellent. I can't recommend Hotel Cunnamulla enough. A must-visit if you're in town or passing through.
