The park was the best part for us. Its facilities seemed fairly new and stayed clean even with the Easter crowds. The “Tradewind” Airstream was a fun novelty and has plenty of charm, though the van feels dated and only partly renovated. It still has the basics for a comfortable stay: hot and cold running water, air conditioning, 240V outlets, a TV, microwave, and gas oven. It’s a unique stay in a great location, but the Airstream could use a more complete refresh.

The staff were friendly and quick to help, and the cafe/restaurant served good food and drinks at reasonable prices. There’s a great range of sites, from off-grid riverfront spots to luxury glamping, with plenty in between. The pool, slides, and toddler pool were fantastic, and the facilities were clean and well thought out, with ample amenities, kitchens, and bins. We stayed last night and thought the whole place was spot on. Highly recommend.

The pool was clean and loads of fun, with two slides, a splash area for little ones, and both shallow and deep sections in the main pool. The play area had shade and a sand floor, and the communal toilets and laundry were spotless. We also loved the fire pit for marshmallows. There were plenty of kids’ activities at no extra cost, including a snake show, archery, wildlife show, disco, colouring competition, and scavenger hunt. We didn’t use the jumping pillow or putt putt because those areas had no shade for the kids. Our Safari family tent was spotless and beautiful beside the river, with a big grassy space out front for the children. It had a huge king bed and a separate curtained room with two singles, plus a mattress set up for our third child. The kitchenette had everything we needed, and the bathroom had a cute bath and great shower pressure. The deck and BBQ were great, though an outdoor sink for cleaning the BBQ would’ve helped. I can’t fault the accommodation. The problem was the pool area during the Easter holidays. Overnight guests already filled the park, but day visitors could also pay to use the pool, loungers, cabanas, and play area. Birthday groups took over the seating and made the pool so crowded it felt unsafe for our three young children. Some parents of older kids, around 8 and up, were at the bar/cafe and weren’t supervising. Our kids saw bad language, wrestling over floaties, pushing, and running. Other children took two of our floaties, and twice we had to pack up and leave. At $580 a night, having to leave because day guests had paid $20 to enter didn’t feel acceptable. We’d return for the setting and accommodation, but we’d have reservations because the pool and seating got so busy. The place had been faultless until those last few afternoons.

We make this a yearly visit and have loved our stays in the safari tents. They come with everything we need: a comfy bed, air conditioning, a TV, kitchenette, bathroom with shower and bath, and a Webber on the balcony. The staff are lovely and helpful, and the facilities are excellent, clean, and well maintained.

We scored our stay 4.8 and will definitely come back soon. Being right beside the river is magical for me as a kayaker, and the Safari tent is just our kind of camping. The facilities were great, the staff were exceptional, and we really appreciated being given a late checkout. The only small disappointment was Driftwood Restaurant closing unexpectedly early even though we’d booked for 6.30pm. We had friends visiting for my birthday dinner. Apart from that, everything was brilliant. Thank you all! Warmest regards, Maike & Paul Yandina
