The room itself was clean, neat, and tidy. Everything else about this stay left me extremely disappointed, especially the complete lack of response from the motel management and Golden Chain. I tried three times by email, phone, text, or message and got no reply or return call. Just silence. We won't stay at Blue Diamond again, and I won't use a Golden Chain motel again either. Their customer service felt nonexistent. My wife and I booked a queen room by phone on Sunday 15 Nov for two nights, 17 and 18 Nov, leaving Wednesday morning the 19th. I'm a Golden Chain Card Holder. Their website showed $280.08 for the rooms, but after handing over my debit card I saw that $360.00 had been charged, $180 per night, which was $70.92 above the stated price. I emailed to ask why, then tried again the next day, with no answer from the motel. Golden Chain ignored my email too. We were travelling home and staying in motels along the way. None of the others charged us $180 a night. I can't just lose $70.92, and that charge felt like a downright rip-off.

The bed was the only good thing about the room. There were holes in the wall covered by paintings, with electrical wires exposed. I don't know whether that's legal in Australia, but it could be dangerous for young children. The place needs maintenance.

Absolutely disgusting. I drove 10 hours from QLD, and they still took my money even though I didn't get there in time. The receptionist was argumentative, not nice, and even hung up on me. I'm taking this further.

They charged us twice, then abused us and hung up when we called to discuss it. A complete rip-off. They're refusing to refund the second charge, so I've lodged a complaint with my bank. If you don't want to feel ripped off, stay away.

They overcharged my card and refused to refund the money. When I asked for it back, I was verbally abused. Be very cautious if you're thinking of booking here, and think carefully before giving them your card details. Proceed at your own risk.
