CHA Private Apts Aruba Beach

We were very happy with the place and plan to come back and recommend it to family and friends. My partner and I stayed for 10 days with our niece and two mates. The location was fantastic, the car parking was secure, and the facilities included an outdoor barbecue, pool and spa. Woollies is just a five-minute walk down the road, and the beach is five minutes up the street.

The pool was lovely, although the spa only ran in five-minute intervals. Everything else was a letdown despite the fantastic location. The room was appallingly unclean, with filthy floors that turned the bottoms of our feet black. The bed was terrible, and because it was on wheels on a vinyl floor, it was hard to sleep or move around on it. There were no fresh towels left out. The kitchen hadn’t been properly wiped down, the coffee machine was disgusting, and the veranda, glass, skirting boards and tracks were dirty. There was hair in the bathroom basin, the water temperature was impossible to control, and both the sofas and tables were filthy. The sofas were uncomfortable too. We called housekeeping to ask for towels and questioned whether the room had been cleaned. They blamed the floor, which is an excuse for poor service, and I run a cleaning business, so I know. In the end I cleaned it myself. They’d sent a young girl who looked dressed to go to the beach the next day to “clean,” carrying just a spray bottle, a microfibre cloth and a stick vac. Management should train the cleaners, give them a checklist and have a supervisor check the room before guests arrive.

The Aruba Team made our stay really enjoyable. They were exceptionally friendly and helpful, and went out of their way to assist me. The resort, room and location were all fantastic. We’re sincerely grateful to the whole team for their kindness and support, which made the visit so memorable.
