We had our own underground parking spot, which saved us from having to drive around looking for a space, and the shops were close by. The apartment felt very clean, and I didn’t find a mark or hair on the sheets. I’d packed my own because I worry about hotel cleanliness, but didn’t need them. As soon as my family and I walked in, we were in awe of the rooms, with their lovely Hampton beach style. We stayed five nights and will make this our go-to place whenever we come here. My one worry was the balcony doors: there were no dead locks or key locks, and I was paranoid with a toddler and an 11 year old sleep walker. I ended up putting all our suitcases in front of the doors.
The location was brilliant, with a short walk to the beach and shops that had everything we needed. Reception was always ready to help or answer questions, and the carpark was easy to access. For a family of five, the three-bedroom apartment gave us loads of space and was very comfortable for a week. We loved the stunning views from every angle. The indoor pool, spa and steam room were great, and the outdoor pool was a nice spot, though smaller than we expected from the photos. Tennis equipment was available to hire for free, and the gym was convenient, but it would have been better if it opened before 7am. A great option for families after comfort and convenience in a central location.
The location was the only good part of our stay at Oscar on Main. We paid $926 for three nights, and after asking the owners for a refund because of the experience, they stopped replying to my emails. We’d paid extra for a view but were put on the second level. The room was extremely outdated, unlike the photos on booking.com, and had a foul smell that lasted the whole stay. The wifi was slow and only worked some of the time. At the front desk I asked for another bath towel so I could wash my hair, but was told it would cost extra. We also had to pay for pool towels, which weren’t provided. There was no exhaust fan in the bathroom, and in Queensland’s humid climate, mould had grown throughout it. The shower handle fell off when I tried to turn it on, so I had to fix it myself. Between the mould and stained carpet, I didn’t feel clean after showering. The microwave was disgusting and looked barely cleaned. The photos attached show the room’s condition and how different it was from the website pictures.
The apartments are large, the location is wonderful, and the amenities are fantastic, with indoor and outdoor pools and a spa. Staff are always around and happy to help with anything. I’d highly recommend staying here! Leigh 😀
We enjoyed the great views and the generously sized balcony during our three-night stay. It’s a nice place, though the outdoor seating was so uncomfortable that sitting out there wasn’t much fun.
