The Gallery Broadbeach - GCLR

We had a great time in the three-bedroom apartment for seven days. It was really spacious, so everyone had room to relax and have some space of their own. The owners had thought of lots of details, including complimentary wine, a vacuum, laundry detergent and cheese knives. It felt warm and homely. The beach and Florida Gardens tram stop were both close by. The pool wasn’t heated while we were there, although a resident said it usually is, so we didn’t enjoy it as much as we’d hoped. Also, late check-in from 7pm comes with a fee starting at $150. Our flight was delayed by six hours, which was stressful, and we got there just 30 minutes before the cut-off. This hadn’t been mentioned before we booked, so keep it in mind if you have a late flight. We loved our stay and would come back.

Our three-bedroom apartment had fantastic views and a main bedroom with an ensuite. There was a nice little balcony, and the pool area is stunning. It was very windy during my stay, but I still managed a couple of swims. The building is beautiful and Broadbeach is a five-minute walk away.

The furnishings were lovely and comfortable, and the location was perfect. The pool and BBQ facilities were amazing. We travelled with our granddaughters, aged three and seven months, and were worried about the high table and chairs on the balcony. We kept the door locked because our three-year-old could easily climb onto a chair and potentially fall over the balcony. See pic. There was a cracked wineglass in the cupboard when we arrived, which I set aside to tell the owners about. I later broke two glasses in the dishwasher. They were delicate, and I should have hand washed them, but thought they’d be fine. I only saw the compendium’s hand-washing advice after they’d broken. Maybe the owners could provide sturdier glasses for this kind of use.

The rooftop pool was the highlight, such a beautiful place to relax. The apartment was laid out really well, and the bedrooms were cosy, with great pillows and lovely linen that made for a good night’s sleep. We had plenty of fresh towels and the facilities were excellent. We had a fantastic stay and would love to come back.
