The Village Holiday Apartments at Burleigh

We stayed from 1st to 7th September with four other families, and all of us ran into major problems. Our apartment had mould around the toilet and on the bedroom curtains, a mouldy washing machine, and thick dust covering the cupboards. The mattress was stained yellow, and the sheets didn’t fit properly. The apartment was dirty overall. For a family of four staying seven days, they left just two rolls of toilet paper. Other families in our group had the same issues, and some had worse ones. The standard was unacceptable for the price. I wouldn’t recommend staying until management sorts out the cleanliness and basic upkeep.

Huge, comfy bedrooms with walk-in robes, a full kitchen, and more pool than I have at home. The apartment was nice, the beach is a two-minute walk away, and there are huge mangoes 🥭!

Burleigh’s central location is good, but the apartment was unclean. The shower had mould, the bin beside the toilet was rusty, a power point was coming off the wall, and there were dusty blinds and a dirty glass shelf in the bathroom. The kitchen was OK, though we didn’t use it. The scatter cushions need washing too. We were given no blankets, only a thin cotton cover like a hospital one. When we asked for blankets, we were told to turn up the heating. We spent both nights freezing under our coats, and the owners didn’t care. At over $350 a night, this outdated, unclean apartment without basic bedding was overpriced. I’d never book it again.

The facilities are immaculate, the gardens are beautiful, and you feel safe right in the heart of Burleigh. Everything you need is close by, including the Beach. We’ve been coming for over 10 years with family, and the location, apartment space, and reasonable pricing keep bringing us back. Would highly recommend.
