The room was very clean, but we had several problems. The TV had no sound until they fixed it, the spa didn’t work, and the shower kept going either hot or cold instead of holding a comfortable temperature. We were very disappointed, especially as it was our wedding night. We won’t be back.

We came to spend Christmas with my sister after her cancer diagnosis. We were given keys to our townhouse and told breakfast wasn’t an option, then went to our home for the next three days. Inside, there was a dead spider stuck to the kitchen window, cigarette butts all over the outdoor courtyard, a bathroom fan black with dust, and a can of Woodstock with a half-smoked cigarette on the upstairs verandah. I raised it with management and got only “sorry.” We paid over $1000 for three nights, and that wasn’t good enough. Want a half-cleaned room, stay at Quest Yelverton. The follow-up made things worse. A man claiming to be a manager called and offered to reimburse half the stay if I removed the review. He said my sister having cancer wasn’t their issue. I told him neither was their father having a heartache, the condition of the room was the issue. He wasn’t actually a manager and was acting on behalf of one. He got rude and obnoxious, talked over me when he didn’t get his way, then changed his attitude when I said my husband had heard the whole conversation.

Only stayed one night, so I can’t comment on the other facilities. The rooms were massive, clean and tidy, nicely appointed and renovated, with an open plan layout. The bed was crazy comfortable, there was a good choice of pillows, and the AC was good. The complex was quiet, and the staff were friendly and easy to approach. Parking for my block was tight. Full-size 4WDs struggled to fit side by side, and there wasn’t much space to pull in or out, but we made it work. Another quality Quest. Would recommend, and I’ll definitely come back next time.

I’ve stayed here a couple of times for work. The first stays were okay, but it depends on which room you get. There’s only one Aussie staff member, Ruth; the rest are immigrants. The owners recently changed to Indians. The immigrant cleaners are lovely. This time I stayed for two weeks. My room was cleaned only every three days, and after work I had to ask each day for things like coffee, milk, dishwashing tablets, liquid and towels. They happily provided them, but that’s not really the point. They said rooms aren’t cleaned over the weekend, only Monday to Friday, which I found strange. It’s a way to save a few dollars, but they charge through the roof. The mattress was sunken on one side, as was the lounge where people sleep or sit. The room had only very basic cooking pots, pans and utensils. Not every room has a washing machine, and there’s a shared laundry on site, but the machines stop with seven minutes remaining and leave clothes soaking wet. The miners put their dirty clothes in them too. I was on the second storey above the pool this time. The dishwasher didn’t work very well, the cupboards needed wiping, and the bin had food stains around the rim. The bathroom was old. Kids from PCYC right outside my bedroom and bathroom window could see in and called out to me. The pool water flowing in all night right outside the room was quite noisy.
