Broadwater Keys

The floors were so dirty when we arrived that we had to clean them ourselves, and the rag was filthy after one pass. The room was “not nice,” and the service at Broadwater Keys Gold Coast was even worse. At checkout, the receptionist refused to return our $200 cash deposit before 9:00 AM, saying he didn’t know where it was. He then insulted me, saying, “the world doesn’t revolve around you.” We left the room cleaner than we found it, but the way staff treated us means I’ll never come back.

For the location, I expected at least a three-star stay, but I can’t give it more than one. The broken bed and tacky feel of the room were disappointing. The curtains had holes, the floor looked dirty, there was an unpleasant smell, and the bathroom looked old and outdated.

The air conditioner worked, but the TV had no reception and the screen door wouldn’t close. The bed was the couch, and all the cupboards were falling apart. The bathroom door didn’t shut properly either. The room smelled of bleach from the moment we walked in and kept smelling that way for the whole stay. Disappointing for the price.

The location was pretty good, with nice cafes within walking distance, and customer service was a good experience. The room, though, was much smaller than the photos and quite outdated. It could have been cleaner too. There was a redback spider living on the bathroom window sill, and the hot water didn’t last long. The bed was comfortable, at least. The washers and dryers only took coins, and our clothes were still damp after using the dryer twice.
