Adina Place Motel Apartments

The car park off the street was tight and hard to manoeuvre in, and visitors to what seemed to be permanent tenants took up the few spaces. That added to an already very poor stay. The room smelled strongly and unpleasantly, and cooking smells from nearby rooms made it worse. There’s a connecting door to the next room, so I could hear everything said there. It felt intrusive, and the place seemed to have permanent tenants on site. The bathroom was dirty, with mould on the mirror and an exhaust fan cover that looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned in years, even though it was easy to remove. The towels were brown, not white, which I wouldn’t expect at a motel. Both remotes were sticky and dirty, the dishes were dirty, the curtain was broken, the room looked very dated, and the bed was uncomfortable. TV channels were extremely limited, with no Channel 7, 9 or 10, only ABC and SBS. I was also worried about the evacuation plan: its fire meeting point was right beside gas bottles, which seems unsafe and inappropriate. The property feels tired, poorly maintained and in need of major renovation. For the price there are much better options in Launceston. It left me with a very poor first impression of the city.
