It’s an easy walk to Canelands, the lagoon and places to eat. The room was nice, and the view of the river from the open area on the top floor is beautiful. My only complaint was a bad smell in the room, which needed airing out every day.

They charged us $25 for cleaning a towel with makeup transfer on it. It was just a bit of residue, the sort you might leave after wiping your hands or face, and should have been easy to wash. It wasn’t as though a bottle of makeup had spilled on it. Parking also costs $7 a day, yet the supposedly secure car park roller door was rarely closed. Pretty pathetic service.

At $190 booked through @booking.com, you get what you pay for. In Tropical North Queensland, both aircons were broken, and even with the fans on high the apartment was stinking hot. The chairs on the balcony were cheap and filthy. I got an incredibly irritated rash on my neck after lying on the couch, and there was someone else’s hair in the sink. The location is central to shops, restaurants and the lagoon, but I don’t recommend the place. I’d rather have had a cheap motel room.

The apartment was very unclean, with a stained carpet, an uncomfortable mattress and noisy aircon. Wouldn’t recommend it!

Vicki made the customer experience second to none. She was lovely and accommodating throughout our stay, and even brought up a high chair for our 8-month-old. We spent a week at the Riviera while my partner worked and had a lovely two-bedroom unit. There’s onsite parking, and the big shopping mall and lagoon pools are within walking distance. The rooftop overlooks the river and has a BBQ. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend staying here.
