Palm Royale Cairns

The front desk staff were friendly and really helpful with local recommendations. We stayed for three of our six nights in Cairns and had a wonderful time. The property is beautiful, and the two pools look just like the photos. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with strong A/C, comfy beds, and a large bathroom. There was plenty of room to spread out, and parking was easy. I’d absolutely stay here again!

We only stayed one night, but the staff really stood out for being so friendly and helpful. Our luggage was delayed, so we had to collect it from the airport at 11pm, then do laundry before leaving early the next morning. The laundry room usually closes after 9pm, but they made an exception. A security guard let us in and out several times until we finished around 1:30am. The room was clean and spacious, parking was easy, and the hotel was conveniently located for the airport.

The pools look just like the photos and were excellent when we weren’t used to the heat. It’s a great location for a good price, and I’d recommend it and come back again. The rooms are dated and could use some attention, but they’re totally acceptable. Room service was hit and miss, though things did get changed most days. If you can choose, book on the quiet road, since the main road side gets a lot of traffic noise.

The gardens and surrounds are full of lovely tropical greenery, and the pools are lovely too. It’s basic, a little dated and worn, but clean and comfortable. There’s very little onsite parking, so it’s mainly street parking. I’d come back because the good bits outweigh the not so good. It’s good for families, and just a short walk across the street there’s a tavern with nice food, a bottle shop, and a Woolworths supermarket next to it.
