AKOM Prahran

The bed felt a bit firm, and there wasn't air conditioning in the bedroom, so we ran the lounge unit to make it comfortable for our toddler to sleep. The bathroom smelled a little like mould, though it looked clean. Maybe that was related to the very handy washer-dryer combo in there. The location, service, and facilities were great. While you're there, treat yourself to a coffee from Q at the Prahran markets :)

The rooms were clean and laid out well, but the noise made our weekend away miserable. Across the road there's a rooftop nightclub playing music until 3am, and the venue itself stays open until 5am. Patrons were yelling and swearing as well. We were severely sleep deprived, and I would never recommend staying here.

The two-bedroom apartment was spacious, with good furniture and amenities, and the security was excellent. The free WiFi wasn't working, but they gave us access to another apartment's modem. We had no privacy blinds, so people across the street could see into nearly the whole apartment. Parking was awkward: only three 15-minute street spots out front, all occupied at checkout, including by their removalist truck. Off-site parking behind Prahran market cost $15 a day. The washer-dryer had no instructions or detergent, so we used body wash and dishwashing liquid. Finding the rubbish chute in the hallway cupboard was also difficult. We will probably stay again.

I gave it two stars for the location opposite the prahran markets. The two-bedroom apartment itself was pretty bad. It was dirty, the beds weren't comfortable, and the showers barely trickled. There was air conditioning only in the living room, so the bedrooms were hot at night.
