Scout Hall

A great place to stay while travelling around this area. The washing machine was a bonus, and so were the outdoor chairs where we could sit with a glass of wine and watch the sunset.

Scout Hall was roomy and comfortable, and even had a washing machine. It’s easy to get to the National Park. Just be aware there are organised parties with loud music along the road from time to time. Otherwise, it’s well behaved.

A cosy, private apartment that’s affordable and well maintained. It’s close to the visitor centre, and there’s a washing machine too. Good place to stay, definitely worth the money.

Don’t book this hotel if you’re a foreigner. There’s no legal requirement for this: I received an automated message saying that Scout Hall requires all guests to provide an Australian mobile number they can be contacted on when making a reservation. It said to ignore the message if I’d already provided one, and that welcome instructions would arrive by email soon. The message claimed the requirement was needed for contact and health tracking, and to protect staff and the environment. If someone couldn’t provide an Australian number for any reason, it told them to return to xxx and cancel the reservation. It ended with an apology for the inconvenience, saying it was caused by circumstances outside the sender’s control. It was signed Alex, Scout Hall management.
