Christine and Bob deserve a shout-out for their genuine hospitality and care. The crib and location are lovely, and it’s a nice place to wake up, but the way they look after you makes it feel like visiting cool family friends. We made awesome memories and will absolutely return.

Christine made us feel welcome and was friendly and helpful. She explained how to find the place and where to park, and was easy to reach while we arranged the booking. I’ll definitely stay here again next time I’m overnighting in Newcastle.

The room and location were sublime, 5/5. But my wife and I were asked three times where we were from, and told how “lucky” we were to be here compared with where we were born. The breakfast was below standard: cereal, fruit and a crossiant didn’t feel very “continental”; even simple eggs on toast would have been great. Our ground-floor room was noisy because of poor construction, so ask for an upstairs room. I loved the north-facing frontage, but there were no block-out blinds and it was bright at 6am. Don’t mention that to the host, who expects you to be up and about by then. There was also a musty, damp smell. You get used to it, though it wasn’t overpowering.

Christine and Bob were wonderful hosts, and breakfast was delicious. The room was spacious and beautiful, with a lovely view of the courtyard. The beach and local shops are within walking distance.
