Ducati's Bed and Breakfast

The cabin sits in a leafy garden with little paths, and there was plenty of birdlife while we were there. It was clean, the beds were super comfortable, and the heater worked great. Peter and Glenys were fantastic hosts, very community-minded and focused on sustainability, which you can see in the cabin’s bins and facilities. They’ve put lots of thoughtful touches into the place. The washing machine and dryer were handy for washing clothes after the beach or a longer stay. We also loved the free-range eggs from the hosts and award-winning bacon from a local butcher. So tasty. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Ducati’s and will definitely be back. Thanks so much.

Peter, the lovely owner, really goes out of his way to make you feel at home. Ducati is cosy and welcoming, with clean rooms, and made for a relaxing, memorable stay. Highly recommended.

The bathroom drains smelled so bad that we would have left if there had been anywhere else to go at that time of night. I wouldn’t put anything on the floor or use the shower, which smelled and had mould in the silicone. There was thick dust on the skirting behind the bed, noticeable highway noise, and a rooster started crowing at 5am. On arrival, after we’d told the owner we’d be late, we were told the lights would be on and the place unlocked. The phone call and greeting were both terse. A huge spider web was right at the entrance, then inside we found cockroaches crawling around the benches and floor, and in and on the rubber seal on both sides of the fridge door. We didn’t use the kitchen. The breakfast provided was opened loaves of frozen bread in the freezer and used condiments in the fridge. At just under $200 for the night, I definitely wouldn’t recommend it. I relied on the good reviews and shouldn’t have. Never again.

My partner and I have stayed there many times, and everything has always been so clean. The beds are comfortable, and you’d have trouble finding anything out of place. Peter and his wife are both lovely people, and their hospitality can’t be faulted. I’d recommend this bed and breakfast to all travellers.
