Teretre Cabins Nimbin

We paid 900$ for three days with my family, but left after just one night. The location is good and the owner was friendly, yet the stay was a big letdown, especially for the price. We can find amazing places on the Gold Coast or near Byron bay for half as much. The room was dirty. There was a broken window, a brown stain on the toilet curtain, mold behind the bed, and a direct view of the bush, as well as the grass rubbish. There were hardly any kitchen tools, just one giant pan and one small pot, and the sofa bed was very uncomfortable. The little dog also came and pooed in front of our cabin, which wasn't great. The place has potential, but it needs a major refresh: furniture, decoration, bedding, and equipment. There wasn't even a coffee or tea pot. As someone who visits Nimbin often, I found it very disappointing. I might give it another chance in one year and change my review if it improves.

The possums squabbling in the dark were funny to watch with a good torch, and the incense and mosquito coils made it easier to enjoy time on the outdoor deck without mozzies. The cabin felt private and cosy, with a well-equipped kitchen and a comfy bed. It's a three-star kind of place, affordable and private, and I've stayed a few times now and would come back. It's peaceful waking up to birdsong, and the town is only a 30 second drive away, with cool stuff to buy, places to explore, and interesting people to meet. We stayed two nights for a lovely break from Sydney. WiFi and flyscreens on the living room windows that open onto the deck would be useful improvements. I'd recommend Teretre cabins to Nimbin visitors.

The location is quiet and lovely, but the rats in the roof stomped around all night and the stench filled the whole cabin. I was very disappointed. When I tried to tell the owner at checkout, she seemed very altered and didn't understand what I was saying. A pity about the doped owner and the stinking rat colony in the roof.

We really enjoyed our stay and hope to come back. The accommodation was comfortable, private, good value for money, and just a short stroll from town. The staff were friendly and helpful too. Thanks Leonie.
