Peel Inn Nundle

It's a country pub, so set your expectations accordingly, but we had a great time and a great feed in the bar. Graham served a fantastic breakfast in the morning. The room was simple, clean, comfortable and warm, with a good shower, and we had undercover parking for the bikes. Great value for money, so five stars from me.

We've stayed at the Peel for years, our group always coming on the same Friday each year. The service has been sensational, and the food and beer excellent. Robert makes a great breakfast with his "young" assistant. We were in Room 1 this time. I thought I'd booked Room 12 as usual, but Room 1 was perfectly adequate. The soap and shampoo dispensers could use larger labels, as some of us can't see them without glasses.

I'd never stayed in a country pub before and was a bit apprehensive. My husband booked this place to break up our trip home, and we chose room 7 because it had its own bathroom. The bed was super comfy, the air conditioning worked well, and breakfast was complimentary with either cold options or bacon and eggs. They even bake their own bread. We stayed on NYE, enjoyed dinner at the restaurant, and there was a DJ until 1:00 am. My husband came down with a bad cold the following night, and while we were trying to sleep, people in adjoining rooms were partying on the verandas. At 1:45 am it got too much, so I politely asked the young group to quiet down. One young man apologised, but the other was very rude. With no staff on site overnight, nothing could be done. The staff here do go above and beyond.

The rear beer garden was the highlight for me, with its full vine ceiling and plenty of seating. After a daytrip to Sheeba Dam and Hanging Rock lookout, we had a very pleasant welcome stop at the Peel Inn, the focal point of the town of Nundall. It feels like stepping back in time, and the original building has been well preserved with plenty of history. The pub lunch menu was delicious, burgers and chips and the like. Definitely worth a visit.
