Club Wyndham Port Macquarie

We’ve been twice, booked a third visit, and are happy to make the nine hour drive each way. It’s a beautiful resort with lovely staff, pretty good rooms and great facilities. The beach is a short walk away, good for swimming, with rocks for a bit of family adventure. On the way back there’s a little bookshop with a lovely owner and a staggering collection. Around Port Macquarie there’s lots to do, and if you like pies and bakery food, find or ask for directions to Bels Bakery on Gordon St. It’s very much a family resort, so the pool and games area can get busy. There are school holiday activities, but check age limits with reception and ask staff to confirm, as they seem to have different ideas. For quiet time, reception can book the no kids allowed spa. If you’re an owner hoping to meet other owners, the event here is mostly free food and drinks. It gets busy because the resort is large, so arrive early for a table and be proactive about starting conversations. Nothing wrong with that, just different from many others we’ve been to. If you want a peaceful getaway, avoid school holidays or plan activities in the surrounding areas.
