The owner and publican is a great example of old fashioned Queensland hospitality. He’s very accommodating, and if you’ve spoken with him more than once, he remembers your name and uses it each time he gets you a drink. City pubs and bars should get him to train the next generation!

The place has a great vibe, and the staff were really nice. We visited over the weekend after hearing the bistro had recently been renovated and had new offerings. The food came out on time and was cooked well, with cold drinks too. My wife, our three year old and I found it great value, and the boy’s “Yummy” says it all. We didn’t stay in the rooms, but if the downstairs operation is this good, I reckon they must be good too. We’ll drop in next time we pass through.

The food was fresh and delicious, and all three of our separate orders came out together. Our waitress Emilija made the evening feel effortless. She greeted us with a huge smile, found us a table straight away and stayed friendly and attentive throughout. She’s young, but clearly cared about making sure we had a nice night. Restaurants need more Emilijas! Really happy with dinner, thank you!!! ☺️

The bistro was the highlight for me. My steak was cooked perfectly, and it was clear they care about the food. It’s a lovely local pub with a heritage feel, friendly welcoming staff, and everything was clean and well kept. Highly recommend if you’re nearby.

The location is really handy, just a short drive from Airlie Beach, and the price was great value. My room at the Prince of Wales Hotel was very clean, possibly recently renovated, and the bed was comfortable. I’d happily recommend it for a comfortable, budget friendly stay in the area.
