Rockhampton Court Motor Inn Hotel

We came across this little gem once before while staying in Rocky, and it was just as we remembered. The room was spacious and clean, and the location was convenient. The service was terrific and friendly when we called, and after-hours access was available.

We stayed eight nights, and this was hands down the worst place I've ever stayed. The rooms didn't match the pictures: apart from the main room, they had single beds. The TV barely worked. If we hadn't showered by 4:30 pm, there was no hot water left. The couch was wrecked, with cigarette burns on the armrest and chips squashed between the cushions. We had to cover it with a bedsheet before we could use it. All the dining chairs were broken in some way, and two couldn't be sat on because their legs were completely broken. There were loud permanent residents coming and going all night, with doors slamming constantly. I'm pretty sure there were bed bugs too, since I woke with bites after the first night and slept in the unused room instead. If you like hearing big trucks race past on the main road all night, the location is for you. The staff were friendly and nice to deal with, but I'd recommend finding somewhere else to stay.

The room was okay overall, and there was covered parking. The pool was a little dirty, and the door showed signs of forced entry. The rooms are dated and need some maintenance: towel rails and the shower door are among the usual problem spots, there were marks on the walls, and my room's air conditioner was mouldy.

Kim at the desk was very friendly and helpful, and all the booking.com information arrived promptly. After-hours self check-in was easy, with the key in a lockbox. I could park my 10x6 enclosed trailer here. The accommodation was reasonably clean, cheap, and solid. The buildings are dated, but I have no complaints. There was tea and coffee with a capsule machine, cold milk in the fridge, a microwave, and air conditioning. I could comfortably have stayed for a few days.
