The pool was a nice extra, and it was easy to walk to town, the lake and the Art Museum. Rooms were clean and roomy, with comfortable beds, a microwave and a good shower. They left out small chips, Kit Kats and water too. I’d ask for a room at the back, since it’s quieter.

About a five-minute drive from the town centre, the Windermere Motel worked well for a stop while passing through Shepparton. Though it’s on the main street, it wasn’t noisy. The cosy, clean room had everything needed for an overnight stay, plus plenty of space for a suitcase and a thoughtful supply of snacks and water.

One of the nicest motels I’ve stayed at on my travels. There’s lots of room inside, complimentary water and snacks, and a lovely pool area. Highly recommend it.

The room had a strong musty smell, and several things felt below what we expected for $335 for two nights. The two-seater couch was well past its best, the wardrobe had no doors, and the doors over the fridge and kettle/toaster wouldn’t shut properly. There weren’t any pictures on the walls either. We’d researched Shepparton hotels before booking a King room, but the online photos, comments and high star ratings gave a misleading impression. We’ll look elsewhere next time.

The service was great, and the location was good. Our spacious room had a microwave, kettle and toaster, and there was an outdoor swimming pool. A great place for a relaxing tour as a couple or with family.
