The place was neat and well kept, and the room itself was good. Just know it works more like an Airbnb than a standard hotel: you need your own streaming passwords and have to put your rubbish in the bins. I washed and cleaned all the kitchen utensils and left them to drip dry, but was still charged the service fee.

The one-bedroom apartment was huge, and the included laundry facilities were excellent. The bed was comfortable, and the electric blankets, which are there all year, were handy in chilly spring weather. It was a little dated, and a couple of things didn’t work, though they hadn’t been advertised as included features. My only complaint was the lack of a bathroom fan. Condensation kept the bathroom damp throughout our three-night stay. I’d definitely come back. It’s good for the price.

We had a spacious, clean apartment with a kitchenette where we could make a meal, and we could do a load of washing too. The train, shops, and Alexander Hotel are all about a minute’s walk away. It’s a great base for parking the car and exploring. There was a hop-on, hop-off bus, but we chose to drive ourselves to the tourist spots. Leura had everything we needed.

The room was clean and the bed comfortable, but the TV reception was patchy and a panel was missing from the shower screen. I’d requested a room without stairs because of mobility issues, yet was first given one on the second floor, up 16 stairs. When I explained that wasn’t manageable, they moved me to a ground-floor room. A staff member acknowledged that my original request was on file.
