I’m extremely disappointed by the hotel’s handling of a recurring noise problem. A loud, continuous beeping alarm made it impossible to rest. When I reported it, the hotel denied responsibility and said it wasn’t coming from the property. But I have official confirmation from the City of Sydney Council, Case CSM 3459420, that the noise came from the diesel sprinkler pump on the hotel roof. The hotel won’t take responsibility for maintaining its equipment, leaving guests to contact the council just to find out what’s happening. If a quiet night and professional service matter to you, I’d look elsewhere.

A loud beep-beep noise comes from this building day and night, and nearby residents can’t sleep. The council has warned the place a few times, but nothing has changed. Last night they told me to call reception, so I did. I expected some improvement, but today the noise is just the same. When I called again, the same receptionist said, “This is not the Dixon Street branch. This is Darling Harbour.” That makes no sense to me. Google clearly shows it’s the same APX Hotel Apartments. Why lie? You make money here, yet take no responsibility for the noise pollution affecting the surrounding community. Very disappointing and unprofessional. STRONGLY NOT RECOMMENDED.

The staff were lovely, and the building felt secure. We had everything we needed in a spacious room, including a very roomy balcony, good water pressure and consistently hot water for a relaxing shower. We arrived in the morning and were able to leave our bags until check-in. When we returned 45 minutes before the stated time, the room was already ready. APX Darling Harbour was in a better location and was a better hotel than I could have expected. I’d happily stay again.

The location is great, but the room was dirty and the service was awful. After getting the key, we called reception three times for help reaching the garage, with no answer. When we arrived, an employee was at a computer. We told him we had called and left a message, but he ignored us completely and didn’t apologize. He handed over the room key without a word and didn’t provide the internet password. The hotel’s parking area is very, very small. The next day, another employee refused to tell me his name. I can’t understand how this place has a four-star rating, and I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
