On a chilly Sunday evening I got locked out of my room, but the kind and helpful lady at the emergency number arranged a duplicate key pretty quickly. The breakfast restaurant staff were polite and accommodating, and breakfast itself is great value for money. This is a charming heritage hotel right opposite the train station, handy for restaurants, transport and the start of the hiking tracks. I also loved sitting in the lounge by the fireplace on the 1930-style vintage sofas.

The price seemed very reasonable, perhaps because we visited in the low season. We spent one night in a double room and found it clean, quiet, and comfortable, with a good mattress and pillow. The staff were cheerful, polite, and helpful. Being close to both the train and bus stations made it easy to get to Scenic View Echo Point and around town. I’d gladly recommend staying here to tourists.

We had parking right on site, and breakfast was good too. The room was comfortable and clean, and the whole place had a welcoming feel. From the warm greeting at check-in to checkout, everything went smoothly. The woman at reception also gave us some nice suggestions for places to visit. The staff were lovely throughout. We’d book "The Metropole" again if we return to Blue Mountain.

The old-style character of The Metropole Guest House gave the building a lot of charm, and it was good value for a pleasant stay. Our room was comfortable and clean, and the staff were friendly and ready to help. Katoomba station is just across the road, which made getting around very easy.

Manager Jack really went out of his way to keep everything running smoothly and make us comfortable. Yolanda was so kind and bubbly, and made the in-house breakfast a joy. My partner and I loved the 1930s décor, especially with modern amenities in the rooms. Such a little gem in the Blue Mountains.
