I’ve had a phone go missing at this venue before, and after I reported it to police, the response felt unsupportive. That experience adds to my sense that customer care isn’t much of a priority here. More recently, I stepped out to take a call while on the gaming floor and came back to find the $30 in machine credits gone. Management checked CCTV and confirmed I was the player, but wouldn’t refund it because I hadn’t pressed the reserve button. I get that procedures exist, but they offered no goodwill or customer focused solution. The money itself isn’t really the point. It’s the lack of empathy and flexibility. Patrons may want to know.

I’m a local and have been coming in for food and a punt for more than 10 years. I’ve never had an argument here or seen one, and the patrons are polite. Staff are friendly, and the area has a lovely feel. There’s plenty of room, whether you want a good drinking session with friends or a quiet punt on your own. There’s also plenty of smoking space away from non smokers. Monday to Wednesday, you can get a $22 meal with a schooner included. Hard to beat. If you know a friendlier suburban pub, I want to hear about it. I’d travel here for a few beers even if I didn’t live nearby.

The staff were warm and accommodating, and there are plenty of eateries, convenience shops, and a laundromat close by. The place is right by the train station, but despite being above the pub it was quiet, with only a faint sound from passing trains.

The place was clean and the staff were very helpful when I stopped in for lunch. Food was good, though I was surprised by how many poker machines there were. I would’ve liked more seating to enjoy lunch properly. I’d return, maybe just for a beer.
