The location is beautiful, and I’ll definitely be back. Reception staff were lovely, and my room was spotless and roomy, with a nice big balcony. The bed was huge and super comfortable. I also enjoyed the food and drinks at the downstairs bistro, plus the bonus breakfast and morning coffee were a lovely touch.

The Northern Beaches location is great, but it doesn’t make the nearly $500 a night worth it. At that price, I expected much more than an average hotel stay, the sort of money that could get you a top hotel in the CBD. Breakfast was included for other guests, but not for us because we booked through Qantas, even though the Google listing clearly said it was included. The room wasn’t clean either. I found a used sock on the floor from a previous guest, unacceptable at any price, especially $500 a night. I only stayed because there weren’t better options in the area. I wouldn’t recommend it.

We were impressed by the hotel during our midweek stay. It was raining heavily, so having the bistro on site for meals was especially handy. Free parking, complimentary water, and welcome drinks all made the stay more enjoyable.

A paper notice in my room said emergency work would start after 9am, with the loudest work planned for the middle of the day. Instead, before 7am, tradesmen were hammering on the roof outside my window and violating my privacy. I raised it with the builder and then reception, but both were dismissive and condescending. They accused me of lying before even checking the site camera footage, despite the work being directly in front of CCTV cameras. Why haven’t you investigated my complaint if building work is strictly prohibited before 7am? Do your cameras record sound as well as images? The evidence should be easy to obtain, but you’ve made no attempt. Are you willing to reconsider this pathetic, dishonest response? These operators seem very dishonest and unscrupulous.
