Dinner was a highlight. The steak was cooked just right, and the prawn topper was something else. The food was great, and the rooms had everything I needed. Staff were really friendly, too. The views and boardwalk were lovely, especially as the sun was going down.

The room was very clean, and the sports bar was well stocked. Food there was fresh and well priced. The place is central, though keep in mind that February and March are wet season in Weipa.

We had a delicious meal out on the back deck, which has a really nice atmosphere. Our daughter said the homemade fish fingers were the best she’d ever had. The male waiters gave excellent service. We’ll definitely come back, and I’d highly recommend eating here.

I enjoyed visiting, though I only saw the place during the day, so maybe the atmosphere changes at night. Staff were efficient and did their jobs well, but there wasn’t much interaction. The location is great and it’s a nice place, though it felt a little short on atmosphere. I didn’t stay or eat there, so I can’t speak to the rooms or food. What I saw being served looked OK. My view might not match yours, so go and check it out for yourself.

The food, friendly service, and central location are a big part of why Albatross Bay Resort seems popular, and there’s a good range of dishes. Dinner felt lively, with activities and entertainment adding a social feel in the evenings. It’s one of the main places in town for accommodation and dining, and clearly plenty of people enjoy it. My stay in a container-style room was harder to enjoy. The room didn’t feel clean enough for me, the water boiling machine was dirty, and noise made it tough to relax. I’m more sensitive than most about cleanliness and noise, so other travellers might be less bothered. Albatross Bay Resort is one of the biggest and best-known places in town. If you want food, entertainment, and a central place to stay, it’s still a solid option. Just pay attention to which type of accommodation you book.
