The Family Apartment quickly became everyone’s favourite stop on our road trip. It was beautiful, spotless, and packed with thoughtful technology features the whole family enjoyed. We also got a complimentary breakfast, which was delicious and a lovely surprise. The hospitality felt like 5-star service, even though the hotel is rated 4 stars. We had first booked 2 x King Studios, then found the Family Apartment was available for the same price. I emailed Deco Hotel to ask about switching, and the receptionist called straight away to confirm the change without a penalty or extra charge. When we arrived, the same gentleman welcomed us warmly and took time to explain the hotel and apartment. I regret not getting the receptionist’s name. He made the stay excellent, and I hope you pass on our heartfelt thanks and give him a well-deserved pat on the back. He’s a real asset to the team. Check-in: 27th December Check-out: 28th December
The room was quiet, and the gym had good equipment. We also had free parking, which was useful with a hire car. The tram runs along the road outside, and cafes and restaurants are about a three-minute drive away in a lively area. The beds were comfortable and the rooms nice, but mine felt dark. There was a sliding door to a balcony, though its wide concrete roof blocked a lot of light, and I’d prefer a brighter room. One thing to watch: taking a drink out of the fridge for more than 15 seconds records it as consumed. I only moved the drinks to see what was inside and didn’t drink any.
The practical details were well handled: underground parking was $15 with unlimited pass-outs, and entry used the room key, so it was simple and secure. The concierge was friendly, efficient, and genuinely helpful. The gym had a huge range of equipment that made proper training possible, not just a treadmill and a couple of sad dumbbells. Our room was spacious, well air-conditioned, and comfortable to spend time in. The bathroom was especially good, with dual sinks, excellent water pressure, a clean finish, and everything feeling solid. I even got a better-than-expected sunset view facing the road. Hotel Deco, Braddon (ACT) feels modern and practical, with a quiet premium feel. I’d happily stay again next time I’m in Canberra.
The stylish, thoughtfully designed interior made a strong impression, and the room felt comfortable and relaxing. I really enjoyed my stay at Deco Braddon. There were a couple of minor issues: the air-conditioning in Room 860 seemed faulty and inconsistent at times, and the bathroom tissue was quite thin. A different or better-quality supply would help. Even with those concerns, the stay was pleasant, and the hotel has a lot of potential thanks to its design and atmosphere.
I had a delicious coffee at the bar. The hotel is very modern, and my stylish room had a beautiful tiled bathroom and a really comfortable bed. I’d definitely stay again.
