It’s definitely worth a stay. The house is comfortable and self contained, with beautiful valley views. We used the tank water but chose bottled water for drinking. There’s a BBQ, though you’ll need to bring your own supplies. There isn’t a local grocery store; Rawson has limited supplies, or Traralgon is a 40 min drive. The local pub served dinner Wed-Sun, and a cafe that needs to be pre booked was open Mon-Tues nights. Most tours and shops were open only Wed, Sat, Sun, so check before you go.

We only had one night here and wished we could have stayed for two. It’s a great base for exploring Walhalla, with the tramway walk, rotunda, cemetery and mine tour all a short walk away. We looked out over the town, and the night was so quiet. The beds were two singles and ?queen. Birds came to greet us on the verandah at breakfast. I had Optus phone service but no data, while Telstra had full mobile reception. Highly recommended.

My best friend and I loved our two nights at Walhalla Mill House. It was clean and cozy, with charming decor that made it feel like a warm little haven in the winter weather. Fiona was a wonderful host, very helpful and full of information. Highly recommended *****

The kitchen was well equipped, and the accommodation was high quality. A lovely cozy cottage in a great spot high above town. We plan to come back next year.

A cute little cottage overlooking town, just right for a couple or small family. It’s a perfect getaway spot, and I can’t wait to return for a longer stay.
