Boutique Bungalows

We left immediately after notifying the owner, and didn’t stay at the property at all. A partial refund was later offered and accepted, but being unable to use the accommodation made the experience very disappointing. We wouldn’t stay again. When we arrived, we collected the keys and went into the bungalow we’d booked. The owner’s wife checked whether everything was okay shortly afterwards. We’d only just arrived, and there was an earthy, pungent smell, so we assumed the room needed airing out. Once we turned on the air-conditioning, we noticed a strong odour and visible build-up inside the unit itself. Since it circulates air directly into the room, we had immediate concerns about air quality and didn’t feel comfortable staying overnight. The problem came up after check-in, and nobody was available on site to deal with it. We’d been told on arrival that the owner was unavailable in the evenings because of wildlife rescue work.

We had a nice stay, but after we privately messaged about mould on the blinds and a damp smell in the room, we got a horrible review. Stephen can’t reply on Airbnb, so I hope he can explain how we supposedly left the cabin so untidy instead of writing false reviews.

It felt like a tropical oasis, and the cabin was beautiful, comfortable, clean, and thoughtfully put together. We had a semi-private balcony with a Weber BBQ, and enjoyed steak and burgers there. When it rained, we played the chess and snakes and ladders provided. The deep bath was lovely, and they even supplied bath bombs. The bed was comfy too. There was plenty of food: cereal, milk, chips, biscuits, chocolate, yogurt, and juice. I added some fruit, which is pictured here on the balcony. Highly recommend this place!

We arrived to find ants at the property. When we mentioned them, the response was just, “don’t leave food out!” We’d only just arrived and hadn’t eaten anything there, let alone left food out. The BBQ was gross and needed a lot of cleaning. I eventually gave up on it. Toilet paper was rationed, and the hot water stopped working on the second night. After that first interaction, we decided to put up with things and not antagonise the host further. This was so disappointing, and far from what a lot of the other comments describe. I recommend avoiding.
