Colonial Lodge Motor Inn Yass

We took this photo of the Yass summer sunset from the balcony outside our room. The place was peaceful and perfectly located for dinner at Solider’s Club or Bowling Club. Cleanliness was impeccable, and the service was kind.

I slept comfortably in the bed, and the staff were friendly, but truck engines starting early and being left running disturbed my sleep. In room 14, the bathroom tap was loose and coming out of its housing. The bar fridge doesn't sit securely and shifts whenever you open it. It also runs so cold that the milk freezes.

A comfortable bed, good WiFi and a quiet, effective air con made this an easy place to stay. The rooms and bathroom have been refurbished, with new amenities including a microwave, TV and toaster. The TV is a good size, too. Thank you.

We've stayed here before while travelling to NSW, but we'll be bypassing it and booking elsewhere from now on. Yass has been our favourite stopover for years, and we travel to NSW three times a year to visit family. As repeat customers, we were pretty disappointed by the response when we had to cancel the night before leaving Victoria because of a last-minute illness in the family. I called to explain that we'd resume our trip in a few days, but was curtly told, "you will be charged full amount." They showed no consideration for changing the date or letting us rebook a few days later.
